The Comfort Care Residence provides a secure homelike environment with special
programming of Alzheimer’s/ Dementia in our Healthcare Center Neighborhood.
In this specialized neighborhood we promote greater independence and a personal environment. A resident may wander and be mobile throughout the living room, music room, sensory trail, and garden. Programming involves physical cues and activities to enhance cognitive function. The staff and physical environment encourages socialization with peers, family, and volunteers.
Residents in Comfort Care take advantage of the many amenities in our building. You will see our residents attend entertainment functions, parties, and luncheons on the Boardwalk, to name just a few.
Comfort Care Residents along with family and friends have access to our award winning sensory trail and garden that evokes memories and therapy in a safe environment.
Since our inaugurating drum circle with Max Weinberg, the drummer of Bruce Springsteen, our drum circles in our music room continues to thrive.
Not just nursing, but other staff in Comfort Care receives training in memory loss, and guidance from our Certified Dementia Practitioners.
While the Comfort Care Residence is Medicare/Medicaid Certified, its attention and care is universal for those with Alzheimer’s disease. If you are interested in learning more, contact us at 609-404-4848
Our Alzheimer’s Support group offers information and outlets for caregivers and families of someone with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s disease. This group is led by our Administrator, a certified social worker and is opened to the community and families. They meet in the Seashore Gardens Living Center Theater on the second Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm. This is a good forum to share solutions and learn more about the disease.
