In January of 2021 we created the COVID-19 Crisis Relief Fund. The monies raised helped us to continue our important mission, to enrich elder lives and keep our residents safe, connected and protected. In July of 2021 we published a second letter detailing how the donations were spent , thanking our donors and asking for much needed continuing support to help supplement the differences between our income and our expenses.

“We dropped my mom off for rehab in March 2020. SGLC was shut down the next day. It was hard, but we understood and appreciated what they were doing. Their priority was to keep her alive and safe, and they did an unbelievable job.

Everyone from nursing and administration to housekeeping, security and the front desk, bent over backwards, to make it easier for her, and for us. They learned the names of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They Facetimed with us. They got her involved with the Better Together intergenerational program, and now she has an honorary grandson.

For the first time in years, we have stopped worrying so much about our mom. She is in wonderful hands at SGLC. They love her like we love her.”

To say that we’re affected by our residents is a vast understatement. We are the proud bearer of their memories, and we appreciate the journey that has brought them here to us. We think of them as our extended family and we honor them as such.
