Ready, Set, Run!

By March 19, 2024No Comments

Eric Share has completed his share of 5Ks. He and his wife spent a year running 12 of them in support of their daughter for her mitzvah project. Now he’s back behind the scenes of one of those events—the Seashore Gardens 5K Run & Health Walk to help those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

“I was asked to join the Seashore Gardens board and when I join a board, I take that seriously. I look for opportunities where I can contribute,” he said. “I’ve been deeply involved with the Atlantic City Marathon since 2010. I don’t run anymore, but as a former runner and somebody with 14 years of race administration experience, I had something to offer Seashore Gardens Foundation.”

The 5K Run & Health Walk benefits a cause that resonates with Share. “For the last 34 years, I’ve worked as a cognitive rehabilitation therapist. I help people with neurological injuries and cognitive impairments achieve greater independence, functional abilities, and quality of life.” While Share does not treat people with Alzheimer’s, he notes, “I understand the life-changing implications of brain-related diagnoses like Alzheimer’s and dementia.”

He encourages the community to come out and support this event. “It’s vitally important,” he said. “Even if Alzheimer’s and dementia doesn’t affect you directly, chances are you know someone who is struggling with a diagnosis for their loved one. Funds raised for this event go directly into our community to help with programs and support.”

The 14th Annual Seashore Gardens 5K Run & Health Walk and 1 Mile Family Fun Run & Walk will take place on Sunday, April 21, 2024, on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
